The SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund takes the protection of personal data very seriously. For this reason, we want to inform users of our website which data will be stored and its purpose of use.
The data protection legislation obliges us to handle user data in a proper and expedient way. For other than these purposes, we may not use your data. In particular, we want to inform you about the information being collected and how these information are processed or used in the following:
Collection, storage and use of data
Using Internet services, data is collected through forms and search engines as well as log files. However, we will not store personal information. Therefore, we cannot determine which user has accessed which data. Personal data are particulars on personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person, which provide details on their behavior or their features. If the information can be indirectly or directly attributed to you, this includes name, address, telephone or fax number, e-mail address, but also information on personal interests or your charitable behavior.
We require some information about you to answer your requests or for the forms on the Donations page. Your data will be used for the processing of the purposes mentioned above only.
We store and process your data to perform the designated donations, to maintain the current funding relationship and send you information about our current projects. Participating banks will receive your data only as far as the implementation of the donation requires it for retraction. For the technical implementation of the data processing, we occasionally make use of external service providers.
Every time a user accesses a page of the SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund website as well as every time as a file is opened, data about this process is stored in log file. Depending on the access log the record may include the following contents:
There is no way to link the IP address and personal data, meaning that no user profiles will be created. The stored data will exclusively be used for purposes of identification and tracking unauthorized access attempts / requests to the web server as well as for statistical purposes such as visitor numbers and page popularity. The evaluation is only performed by our authorized employees.
Cookies can be used to control the connection during a session or for the recognition of a repeated use of a function by the same user. In the first case, they are deleted after the end of the session. Otherwise, they remain stored on the user's computer.
These cookies are used to process your request to our server in a quick and comfortable way. They do not contain any personal data and lose their functional purpose when leaving our website. Afterwards you can delete them from your hard disk. You can also refuse the acceptance of a cookie (please do look in the manual of your browser). However, some features on the website require cookies and might therefore no longer be functional.
Secure data transfer
Personal information that you provide us with via the forms on the Donations page or by contact requests will be transmitted to us using a encrypted and therefore safe connection. The security system (SSL-Secure Sockets Layer) is the usual state of the art. The SAVE Wildlife Conservation Fund uses the most secure encryption standard in Germany with a 256 bit key, as commonly used by banks.
All employees of SAVE Wildlife Conservation, who are dealing with personal information, are required to adhere to data protection. Access to the system follows via an authorization procedure. SSL encryption (recognizable by the https:// in the address bar of the browser and a lock icon in the status bar at the bottom of the browser) is a protocol for encrypting data in transit from the Web server to the browser. This transmission offers extremely high security. When transferring your personal data, it is SSL-encrypted between your computer and our SSL server.
